Barbados has declared singer Robyn Rihanna Fenty, better known as Rihanna, a national hero during its Republican celebrations in Bridgetown.
The President-elect Dame Sandra Mason,72, the Island’s Governor- General since 2018, who is set to become head of state after the country announced last year Dame Sandra Mason, 72, the island’s governor-general since 2018. She now replaces the Queen as the head of state .
Rihanna attended the declaration of the Republic and inauguration ceremony for Mason in her hometown of Bridgetown on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
The honour of National Hero of Barbados was bestowed on her by Prime minister, Mia Mottley.
