Davido, in the interview explained that his dad was really against him leaving school for music. His father wanted him to get a degree before going into music

The singer, Davido revealed this during an interview with an American-based podcast, ‘Earn Your Leisure’ which was published on Wednesday.

He said;

 “I wasn’t in school. I was facing music full time and over the years, he found out that I wasn’t in school and there was a whole lot of drama.

“I left school. I went back to the city and then my dad was chasing me with the police.

“The Police were coming after me to go back to school. Any show my dad saw me on, on a flier or whatever, he was shutting the show down,” Davido said.

“I moved back to Nigeria and then, he wanted me to go back to school. Because he was like, ‘after school, you can go back to do the music and bla blah blah. Just get your degree first’’

According to the multiple-award-winning singer, his Billionaire dad, Adedeji Adeleke, went as far as attempting to shut down shows where he knows he’ll be performing and sending Police after him to drag him back to school.

Eventually, Davido went back to school to get a degree, despite the trouble he faced with his Dad on going to school.

Davido revealed that the song ‘Dami Duro’ which was a hit song, changed his music career, for good.

According to him, this made his dad agree to a deal with him, to do music and attend shows when he’s not occupied by schoolwork.
